New Year on the south coast

Sri Lanka

One extraordinary villa. Warm-water surf. Long lunches. A beautiful night by the ocean.

The pitch

Enough adventure.
Almost no logistics.

We take over a design-led villa around Ahangama or Kabalana and let the coast come to us. Surf before breakfast, disappear into the pool, dress up for dinner, and choose our nights out selectively.

December is the south coast’s sweet spot: surf season, warm water, and the island fully awake.

The main decision

Two beautiful
answers.

Ahangama gives us range. Hiriketiya gives us intimacy. Both work for surf, villa days, and a memorable New Year—the question is how we want the trip to feel.

The target is a polished beach-club night around Ahangama: private chef and cocktails at the villa first, then a reserved table or ticketed event by the ocean. The exact venue comes once the 2026–27 lineups drop.
